Exploring Roatan by Rental Car
Roatan is a visually amazing Caribbean island, its rolling hills are
lined with lush tropical vegetation and run all the way to the shores
edge where the coconut trees, white sand and turquiose water begins. The
very best way to explore this amazing island and all its attractions is
by Rental Car.
Having your own vehicle gives you the freedom to explore and enjoy
the wonders of Roatan at your own pace- search for that secluded beach
or great local restaurant. The islands has a variety of well known attractions
such as: West Bay Beach, West End Village, Carambola Botanical Gardens,
Anthonys Key Resort - Dolphin Show, Ship Wrecks of Dixon Cove, Iguana
Farm, Marble Hill Farms, Garifuna Town of Punta Gorda, Mangroves of Oak
Ridge, Paya Bay, Camp Bay and Port Royal. All these attractions can be
easily accessed with a rental car.
Roatan is also world famous for its snorkeling and diving. There are
38 dive sites found within the West End Marine Reserve, all within 15
minutes boat ride of West End. There are also lots of very shallow snorkeling
areas and the coral reef is perfect for everyone, as the top is about
40ft, allowing snorklers and novice divers to glide along in shallow water.
These many snorkeling areas can be reached from the shoreline in West
End, West Bay and Sandy Bay. You will also find snorkeling and diving
sites close to most of the islands shoreline.
